Proximity Chat Stays Offline as More 1.4.3.0 Faults Surface
A weekend status roundup from the Battlefield team keeps Proximity Chat switched off in REDSEC and names four faults that earlier notices had not: damage figures above 100 printing wrong in the REDSEC HUD, armor-wearing players losing their hit indicators, sniper rifles missing their zeroing readout, and the Interdictor hitting too hard in Gauntlet. One entry did come off the list, with a server-side change clearing the lag in HUD notifications.
Two long-running entries moved on. Matchmaking in REDSEC has settled since Hotfix 1.4.3.1 went out, going by EA's own data and player comments, and the missing-attachment reports turned out to stop at the Firing Range rather than reaching REDSEC or the live multiplayer playlists.
Proximity Chat remains off for the rest of the weekend, with word promised when it returns
REDSEC matchmaking has been stable since 1.4.3.1 and stays under watch
Missing attachments are confined to the Firing Range, leaving live modes untouched
HUD damage numbers above 100 read wrong, though the shots still land for their full value
Armor hit indicators fail to appear when an armor-wearing player is shot
Sniper zeroing has a known cause, but the correction needs a client patch
Interdictor damage in Gauntlet is being pulled back toward its 1.4.3.0 range
One item on the list is not a bug at all. The out-of-bounds warnings players have run into in parts of the map that used to be safe mark vehicle spawn zones, and EA says that block is deliberate: it keeps anyone from sitting on a spawn point and denying the vehicle to either side. How to signpost those zones more clearly is still being discussed.
