March 2026: Season 2 Nightfall and a Free Week for Everyone

March 17 brought Season 2 Nightfall — the Hagental Base map, night-vision goggles, dirt bikes, and the CZ3A1 SMG — alongside a free trial week (March 17–24) that opened the game to all players. BF Pro Radio Season 2 launched with Slipknot, Papa Roach, The Offspring, and Limp Bizkit.

Bad Company 2 Turns 16

March 3rd marked Bad Company 2's 16th anniversary — and the community showed up: 443K views and 6,083 likes . Rush mode, Squad Stories, and Destruction 2.0 are still the template. With Portal bringing BC2 maps into BF6, the anniversary carried extra weight.

Battle Royale Solos Labs Test

A Battle Royale Solos mode was tested through Battlefield Labs ahead of Nightfall's launch — a compact solo BR format that generated significant community discussion and fed real player data back to DICE on solo BR viability within BF6's sandbox.

March 17 — Season 2 Nightfall Goes Live

Nightfall delivered:

Hagental Base — a new map in the Austrian Alps, built around a fortified mountain installation

Night-vision goggles — changing the visual language of combat across NVG-enabled playlists

Dirt bikes — fast, agile light vehicles adding new traversal options

CZ3A1 SMG — a new short-barrelled CQB weapon

Free Trial Week — March 17–24

Timed to Nightfall's launch, the free trial ran from March 17 through March 24. The combination of new content dropping simultaneously with open access created ideal conditions for new player retention — the second free trial period since launch.

Strix Raiders Bundle

The Strix Raiders cosmetic bundle digitised actual Marine Raiders equipment and character profiles into the game — part of the ongoing effort to bring authentic military identity into BF6's cosmetics alongside its fictional faction content.

BF Pro Radio Season 2

The in-game radio playlist refreshed for Season 2: Slipknot, Papa Roach, The Offspring, and Limp Bizkit . A nu-metal and alt-metal lineup that matched Nightfall's aggressive energy and didn't pretend to be subtle about it.

Red Bull Supermoto Gauntlet

The Red Bull Supermoto Gauntlet in-game event drew 1.02 million views — a cross-promotion built around BF6's new dirt bikes that connected the vehicle addition to real-world motorsport culture. One million views for a vehicle event is a strong signal the dirt bike had landed well.
