Server Browser Arrives Early, Rolling Out Shortly After Phase 2

The Server Browser is jumping ahead of its Phase 3 slot: a staged rollout begins soon after Season 5 Phase 2 lands on November 10. A limited public scale test comes first, to see how servers, queues and backfill hold up with real squads, followed by a worldwide release once live metrics check out. Both stages should take a couple of weeks, depending on what the test turns up.

The browser sits in the Quickplay row and opens on a new Official tab, with extra entry tiles in other menus such as Portal. Quickplay, Multiplayer, Custom Search and the browser all draw on one shared pool of official servers.

Filters and sorting narrow the list by map or mode and order it by ping, player count, server name or Recommended

Persistent Lobbies keep a squad on one server from round to round instead of returning it to the main menu

Four tabs split the list: Official (Studios) and Official (Player-Hosted) grant full XP, mastery and challenge progress, Verified grants full XP, and Custom grants partial XP

Player-hosted servers run on dedicated hardware, so a host can log off without ending anyone's match; an empty one stays listed but gets no backfill until someone joins, and is removed after seven days without players

Automatic backfill covers active menu modes such as Conquest and Breakthrough, while off-menu modes can be hosted but aren't routed players until they rotate back

Joining through Quickplay onto a 24/7 single-map server re-queues players at round end, whereas browser joins follow the server's own rotation
