Players report a hidden 300 XP-per-minute cap in Update 2.1.1.0
Players are circulating reports of a 300 XP-per-minute cap that appears to have arrived with Game Update 2.1.1.0, though the patch notes don't mention one. According to config values datamined by FFFF_KER and shared by Battlefield Bulletin, kill and assist XP beyond 300 in any 60-second window is discarded rather than added to the end-of-match total. The same limit reportedly covers vehicles, classes, career rank and the Battle Pass.
The report surfaced the day after Season 5 went live, and the r/Battlefield thread that spread it ties the timing to the Ultimate Shortcut Kit, a new store bundle that pre-unlocks progression.
Weapon cap: WeaponXpCap set to 300, with a 60-second cap interval
Sibling caps: VehicleXpCap, ClassXpCap, CareerXpCap and BattlepassXpCap, each reportedly also at 300
Overflow XP: anything earned past the cap inside a window is dropped, not carried into the match tally
Ultimate Shortcut Kit: USD 29.99 for 73 items, unlocking weapons, gadgets, vehicles, attachments and Training Paths across all four classes
The datamined figures are labelled as defaults, which leaves open whether every playlist enforces exactly 300. By contrast, the Progression section of the official 2.1.1.0 notes lists only three Season 4 catch-up challenges. Replies in the thread centre on weapon progression that was already slow, and some ask whether a multi-kill, such as a tank round into a full transport helicopter, now forfeits most of its XP to the cap.
