Second matchmaking pass targets bot-heavy lobbies

Battlefield Studios has deployed a second round of backend matchmaking changes, refining the update it pushed last week. The goal is fewer bot-filled lobbies whenever enough real players are searching for a match.

The team also cautions that narrowing your search to a handful of maps and modes can stop you landing in persistent lobbies.

The follow-up builds on the Match & Lobby Continuity test that began on October 2, which tweaked matchmaking to keep more players together from one round to the next, most visibly in the official playlists.

Fewer bots: lobbies should fill with more human players when queue numbers are high enough.

Search filters matter: selecting too few maps and modes can keep you out of persistent lobbies.

Still in progress: the team says it will share further updates as the work continues, and credits player feedback since the first change.
