Update 1.4.2.5 Restores Laser Designation and Minigun Damage
Game Update 1.4.2.5 arrives September 1, 2026, 12:00 UTC as a small follow-up to 1.4.2.0, covering both Battlefield 6 and REDSEC. Laser designation paints the F/A-81F Super Spectre and F-74A Seacat again in Carrier Strike, helicopter miniguns once more hurt soldiers sitting in water, and Portal Custom Lobbies keep their "Start" tile responsive while the countdown runs.
The changelog runs across player, gadget, weapon, UI, AI, and stability entries, with a short REDSEC section at the end.
Support pings register on downed teammates again, and party invites can be accepted from the splash screen.
Grenade warning markers stay pinned to the screen edge once the grenade leaves view.
The EOD Bot Arm becomes a light melee weapon, keeping the run-speed bonus but losing the destruction that heavy melee carries.
The Match Trigger attachment stops interfering with fully automatic fire on the BROD and EF88.
Black screens between the end of a match and the Event tab are reduced rather than eliminated; EA describes the remaining cases as still under investigation.
End of Round presentation loses the placeholder squad names and icons in "Top Squad", and the Featured Event tab appears in the menus.
AI boat defenders in Sector 3 of Breakthrough on Wake Island stay inside the combat area instead of straying out and dying.
Server load near water drops after redundant water processing was trimmed, and Xbox Series S stops locking up on return from Multiplayer.
REDSEC clears the visual artefacts left by destroyed structures at the Combat Training POI and caps Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep squads at two players.
